So I finally got around to using Hackchi2 to put my copy of SNES Doom on the Classic Mini and was playing around...
I realised that strafing is hideously hard to do and it knocks my average times *way* down, take E1M2 for example: On PC I can average about 1:20 (not 100%) with Crispy, probably quicker with GZDoom, on the SNES, that time is about 5:30, and I appreciate that frame rate is choppy at best on the SNES port.
Question is: Can anyone deal better with strafing? Or has anyone dealt with the bad strafing implementation before? I should make it clear, I’m trying to use the L and R shoulder buttons as with SNES Wolf3D, there may be no strafing at all in the SNES port, and I’m just being an idiot!

No idea, I find snes doom to be incredibly clunky and slow. It is decent for a port but.. still not great. I don't even know how to strafe! Haha.
