Thrown away by an explosion in the phobos base, you find yourself alone. It's all in flames , and you can't see past a few feet because of the reddish smoke and the blinding blaze. Confused, you are trying to find your way back to the phobos base but your are struck by hideous visions that you wish weren't real: strange creatures killing whoever crosses their paths, some of which look like authentic demons, flying skulls capable of tearing a man to pieces, former humans going on a frenzy.... You can't even begin to understand the situation but your best shot is to try to regroup at the base, so you keep walking in the hopes of getting a signal or sight of the base. It's hard to tell whether you have walked for minutes or hours in the desolate moon with only these creatures to keep you company and the occasional radio signal with screams of what you assume are other colleagues being slaughtered in this reddish nightmare.
You keep shooting and taking down whatever these things are, one by one, not knowing when or if you'll be able to find the base and if there's anyone there left alive. The adrenaline carries you even though you see blood coming out of your suit, you keep going and obliterating everything that comes your way when all of a sudden there is silence and you can hear some pops and crackles in your helmet, you realize that it has the disctintive interference pattern of the base generators.
Still blind, you follow the crackling as it becomes louder and louder and, as your vision clears, you recognize the base's star-shaped buildind completely overrun with demons. There is no chance anyone could have survived, right? But you being able to make it back is just as unlikely, so you take the chance and resume the fight as demons are in the vicinity of the base. Your plasma gun is now depleted, you grab the shotgun and tear those pinkies a new one until it just clicks. You now only have a pistol and some rounds, making sure you leave at least one in the chamber if everthying goes wrong.
You put up a fight but you start to get tired, almost outof oxygen and rounds, grasping for breath you fall on your knees knowing there is no hope and everything you once believed and loved might be a thing of the past now. You think for a split second to end it right there, before a demon gets a hold of you when you hear a rocket launcher being fired and some marine cursing through the radio. You muster all of your remaining strength and rush to the apocalyptic battle taking place where some anomalous signal has taken over the base's readings.
You see the doomed marine far away ravaging two huge demons and walking past their charred corpse. Then, after he lowers the base's walls you stand in disbelief as he somehow gets teleported all of a sudden amidst a horde of bloodthirsty creatures.
You then run as fast as you can as you see he's getting torn, he fires his plasma gun without restraint, and manages to kill every single of one of those damned creatures but as you come closer he collapses and you then notice a hole running through the marine's chest as he tells you his last words: deimos base, go, give them hell. And he expires. So you grab all the gear you can find in the phobos base and reach for the shores of hell in the deimos base...

Thanks! This is true, all marines are supposed to be dead. Although maybe it could be that our own doomguy didn't find anyone because the few survivors were scattered, or maybe just hiding? I guess it's not possible to know for sure. But it's really fun to think about the possibilities of what could happen. Just my version of "what if" I guess
